MY APPROACH IS DIFFERENT THAN YOU MIGHT THINK

Your body, mind and emotions are not connected. To say that they are connected is to say they are separate entities in need of connecting. As humans, symptoms of our health and dysfunction can express though the different avenues of the physical body and mental/emotional states, but we function and experience those symptoms in our lives as one complete system. For example, emotion reads like a topographical map in the musculature of the body, anxiety and mental rumination can often be found to induce both emotional and physical symptoms, and a physical injury can take its toll on your emotional and mental state.

Specialists who look at only one expression of health are extremely important in the western medical system, as they become the experts in their field, but the real magic happens when the varying facets of your health can be seen as threads weaving together and create the beautiful tapestry that is your whole being. An integrated approach to examining your health allows for a much deeper and accurate level of health and healing to emerge. We will explore the many different facets of what makes up a healthy way of life: nutrition, movement, hydration, relationships, work/play balance, purpose and future vision.

“Life, as we know it, is built on patterns. We see them in nature (spores on the underside of a fern leaf), mathematics (the golden ratio), and in how space is continually expanding. We see them in how our ancestors learned to survive. They relied heavily on tuning into the cycles of the earth in order to create patterns of hunting, foraging and eventually farming. Cyclical patterns are reliable, predictable and comfortable and serve as the foundation of all of life. Without them we wouldn’t exist. So, why is it that we often find ourselves wrapped up in patterns that aren’t healthy? Most people are much more likely to stick with a habit that they know isn't good for them rather than change to a better one that is uncharted territory.” ~ Taken from my book: Weight Loss Liberation: A power guide to diet freedom

We literally exist within an intricate matrix of patterns that are made up of either our unconscious default patterns, or our consciously chosen routines. Changing your life means changing your behavior.

My approach focuses on assessing the behaviors and habits that keep you stuck and creating new ones that allow for change to occur. I use motivational interviewing, positive psychology techniques and the transtheoretical model to both support and challenge you.

You deserve an individualized and truly holistic approach to your health. With my guidance you will gain knowledge and self awareness, learn what your personal system needs to be its best and create new patterns of behavior that encompass your values and health requirements and support your vitality.

FOOD AS MEDICINE

Food can be either the medicine you need or the poison you don’t. Your diet should be treated as a unique and intuitive experience that can shift and change and morph just as you do.

I specialize in hormone and endocrine related disease and dysfunction. I work in conjunction with licensed health care practitioners to provide a specialized and holistic approach to address each patient’s needs.

This focused work can be particularly helpful if you have been diagnosed with:

PCOS, menopause, PMS, estrogen dominance, thyroid disease, infertility or sleep disorders.

MOVEMENT AS JOY

We are made to move. Our bodies are designed to walk, bend and lift. This movement allows us to experience all the joys that life has to offer. Playing with your children or grandchildren, running on a romantic beach with your partner, hiking to the top of a mountain.…whatever the activities are that make you feel ALIVE! Your body wants to move, but classic exercise can take the joy right out of it. Moving can be immensely pleasurable when you are doing the things you love. In our work together you will explore the many moments that make you feel amazing and, at the same time, keep you healthy and strong. There are so many options, let’s find the right ones for you.

RELATIONSHIPS IN BALANCE

Humans are social creatures and the relationships you have play a vital role in your over all health and wellness. Often the people closest to you in your life have a massive impact on your ability to put your health needs on the top of your priority list. As we work together you will learn how to establish loving and clear boundaries with your family, friends and work so that your self care can be of priority. Finding a healthy balance between honoring your own needs while still being present for the other aspects of your life can be game changer in your success.

WHY CHOOSE TO WORK WITH A COACH?

Your nutrition, movement, mindset, relationships, sense of purpose and even your dreams for your future all play a vital role in your experience of health. The obstacles that lie in between you and the vibrant life you envision aren’t necessarily coming from your lack of knowledge of health, as much as the vacancy of your relationship with health.

The art of coaching looks into the many different ways your health or dis-ease is expressing and takes a more comprehensive approach to helping you make changes in your daily life. Simply put, after your doctor tells you WHAT to do to better your health, I show you HOW to do it. Coaching shows you how successful you can be in making changes in your life that you never thought were possible. Coaching supports you when you doubt yourself, guides you when you feel confused and challenges you when you want to give up.

Together, we will set a new foundation of self awareness, health awareness and self care routines that honor your unique lifestyle and needs. Health is out there. You deserve it.

“Heal yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon. With the sound of the river and the waterfall. With the swaying of the sea and the fluttering of birds. Heal yourself with mint, neem, and eucalyptus. Sweeten with lavender, rosemary, and chamomile. Hug yourself with the cocoa bean and a hint of cinnamon. Put love in tea instead of sugar and drink it looking at the stars. Heal yourself with the kisses that the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain. Stand strong with your bare feet on the ground and with everything that comes from it. Be smarter every day by listening to your intuition, looking at the world with your forehead. Jump, dance, sing, so that you live happier. Heal yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember ... you are the medicine.”
